EMDR Intensive Therapy in Philadelphia, PA

Intensive EMDR utilizes all the techniques of EMDR but over a shorter period of time so that you can see changes taking place fast. Intensive EMDR is for you if:

  • You want to feel at peace with, and appreciation for, what you have already accomplished

  • You know that you want to see change, and you are ready to commit to a solution.

  • You haven't found help in talk therapy in the past -- maybe it seems too open-ended, or you never felt that 'aha' moment.

  • There are situations that have happened in your past that changed the way you interact with the world -- not for the better.

  • You want to work with a therapist who understands your needs – both for confidentiality and for efficient, personalized, and evidence-based work.

  • You love putting goals on paper and following through with them

How it works:

The way intensive EMDR is structured is that we will work together over two to four full days (4-6 hours each) over 1 to 2 weeks and we work through all eight phases. Healing trauma doesn’t require time or breaks to be effective if you prepare effectively, and I find that both of us do our best work when we are fully keyed into the moment. This means that, outside of a one hour break for lunch on these days, we are putting in the work. You will notice significant changes in days, not months or years.

This will be a 7 hour day, with 3 hours in the morning, a break, and 3 hours in the afternoon.

It’s important to think about:

As a reminder, insurance will not cover intensive work. If you want to utilize EMDR, I highly recommend going out of network so that strict time limits outlined by insurance do not get in the way of processing your trauma. Please feel free to ask more questions, and we can determine what works best for you during our consultation call and intake session.
